How this school came to be
More than 61 years ago, a group of dedicated and passionate Delaware parents sat around a table and thoughtfully imagined an independent, non-sectarian school. Beginning as the Wilmington Montessori Association in 1963 with 14 children in a storefront in downtown Wilmington and moving to a little red school house in Arden in 1973, Wilmington Montessori School was born. Wilmington Montessori School incorporated on January 31, 1964 and affiliated with the American Montessori Society the next year.
